Honktown Meltdown II
It’s back! The second annual Honktown Meltdown is returning May 18th, 2024 at the Heritage Skatepark in Regina Saskatchewan!
We are all honoured to skate on Treaty 4 territory, the original lands of the Cree, Ojibwe, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and traditional homeland of the Métis.
We’d like to thank the generous support from the following partners: the McMorris Foundation, Alien Workshop, Colonialism Skateboards, Girl Skateboards, Last Resort AB, Magenta Skateboards, Modus Bearings, PassPort Skateboards, Poupon Wheels, Skull Skates, Skullcandy, Spitfire Wheels, The Tiki Room, and Vans. We’d also like to thank all the volunteers who have made this even happen.
Cash prizes totalling $2500 are up for grabs!
Categories: 13&under, 14-16, women/LGBTQ, and Open category.
There is a $10 entry fee; helmets and waivers are mandatory for all participants. Participants under the age of 18 must have a signed parental waiver. Registration for entrants can be done online ahead of time by visiting this link. Registrants can specify their preferred category on the day of the event.
Schedule:
– opening ceremony is at 10am
– 13 & under starts at 11am
– womens/LGBTQ category starts 12pm
– 14-16 starts 1pm
– open category/best trick starts at 2pm
Spectators are welcome! We’ll also be fundraising for the skatepark at the event; if you’re unable to attend and would like to donate please visit our donations page! The location of the contest is the Heritage Skateboard Park located in Avana Centre Building, the Real District (formerly Evraz Place). The Avana Centre Building is first the building North of the Lewvan Drive Entrance. The skatepark entrance is at the north side of Avana Centre Building.
RSC’s mission is to develop inclusive facilities, events and activities that support the physical, psychological and social wellbeing of Regina youth through skateboarding and skateboard culture.
